Our Yurts

We have two 20ft diameter Scottish made Yurts that can sleep up to 6 people and one 18ft diameter Yurt that can sleep up to 4 people. They are set around an orchard and meadow and are available for hire from February to the end of November.

They each include;

  • Luxury double bed plus proper furniture including two futon sofa-beds for other guests (double futons in the larger yurts and singles in the smaller yurt)
  • Fully equipped with all you will need (towels, bedding and crockery/full self catering equipment)
  • Wood burning stove/cooker (including an oven) for heat and cooking
  • Books, toys and games
  • Solar powered lighting
  • Insulated for year round comfort
  • Free Wifi
  • Private bathroom with shower and towels provided (including a luxury composting toilet)
  • Your own outdoor firepit with seating, cooking utensils and picnic bench.
  • Shared kitchen area with kettle, toaster, microwave and you own fridge.
Yurts (or 'Gers' as they are sometimes called) are a traditional dwelling from Mongolia that have been used for many centuries. They provide a fabulous place to stay and loads of indoor space with an atmosphere that is unique and tranquil.

Our Site

Our site is set in a small orchard located near to the Old Manse just outside the hamlet of Kilmory. Along with the three yurts, the orchard and meadow contains the bathroom block which houses private bathrooms for each and a shared kitchen.

Parking for the site is a couple of minutes walk away and no cars are allowed on site making it safe for kids to run and play. A wheelbarrow is on hand to help with bags.

We keep chickens, geese and bees on our land and there is usually a supply of fresh eggs and honey.

Everything is close by.

  • the beach is 15 minutes walk
  • the local bar and restaurant is 10 minutes walk
  • there’s a small shop 10 minutes walk away and
  • the forestry tracks lead straight from site - great for walking, running and mountain biking
The next village, Blackwaterfoot, fifteen minutes drive away, has a butcher, baker, deli and grocery shop, a number of cafes, restaurants and shops, golf and an indoor swimming pool.

The larger villages on Arran are all within easy reach - Whiting Bay - 15 minutes drive, Lamlash - 20 minutes drive, Brodick - 35 minutes drive.

There is a regular bus service that goes round the island and stops in Kilmory - 5 minutes walk from us.
